Our Fees
In common with all Solicitors, we charge for general work on the basis of an hourly rate, calculated in units of one tenth of an hour. The Courts Service have assessed that a reasonable hourly rate for a Solicitor in Hull, with more than 8 years’ Litigation experience, is £203.00. However, our charges for work done by a Senior Solicitor are calculated at £175.00 per hour, plus V.A.T. and any out-payments.Work done by an Associate or Assistant Solicitor is charged at £150.00 per hour plus V.A.T. Work done by a Conveyancing Executive or Assistant, is charged at £125.00 per hour plus V.A.T.
In respect of Debt Recovery work, we charge fixed sums which are, wherever possible, calculated by reference to the amounts which the Court Rules allow to be added to the debt. Please ask for a copy of our Price Structure.
In respect of types of work where the steps to be taken are predictable in advance, such as possession claims against Tenants, we are happy to agree an upper limit on our charges, so that clients can budget accurately for the costs they will incur.
For conveyancing work, we will give fixed price quotations – please see our Residential Conveyancing page for details. We also offer fixed prices for the preparation of Wills.
In respect of many types of work, we are required to carry out electronic Anti-Money Laundering Searches in respect of each client, and some third parties. Such searches cost £6.00 including V.A.T., per person.
